GameTako just announced that it will be holding the 3rd edition of its Pan-Arabian GameJam: GameZanga. The competition is a 4 daylong event that will kick off on the 14th of March with the announcement of the “theme” around which Jammers will create their game.
The theme will be decided in a 2 stage voting process (already happening online) and will be announced on March 13. You need to register for the Zanga to be able to cast your vote, so if you want to have your say you should do so before voting closes.
Everyone is eligible to compete, regardless of where they reside, provided that the game is in Arabic or has no language at all. This year Game Zanga will add 2 new locations: Tunis and Casablanca, to Riyadh, Amman, Cairo and Abi Dhabi, where developers can meet, participate and cosplay during the weekend.
All games will be reviewed and judged by renowned Arabic game reviews sites.
Here’s a quick recap of the previous GameZanga:
- 43 original arabic games
- 3 physcial location
- 3 days of GameJaming
- Over 200 registered developers
