Google Zeitgeist 2011: January 25 Revolution weighs heavily on Egyptians’ search queries

Google announced today its annual Zeitgeist report which reveals the most searched terms for the year 2011 based on the aggregation of billions of search queries that people typed in its search box.
The report reflected the impact of January 25 revolution over the current year where “ثورة 25 يناير” ranked first in the terms that were most queried in 2011 in Egypt, followed by “ميدان التحرير”, while “محاكمة مبارك” ranked sixth. In addition the report also highlights the 10 most searched personalities of 2011, 6 of which are related the revolution, including “مبارك” and “وائل غنيم”.
On a lighter note, the report also listed the most popular terms in sports, and it seems that Egyptians are more interested in "كرستيانو رونالدو", who ranked 5th,over (Lionel Messi) "أهداف ميسي", trailing him in the 6th spot.
