GEW Events Kick-Off in Oman This Monday

Starting on Monday, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, will host a week-long series of events in line with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). Taking place at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), the week will kick off with talks by entrepreneurs Faris Alami and Husam Al Sulaimani on the first day.

Alami is a recognised expert in entrepreneurship and business incubation. He commands a wealth of experience having worked with several business incubators. He has also managed start-ups, and planned, managed, and directed entrepreneurial training as well as a number of international initiatives and programmes.

On his part, Omani entrepreneur Sulaimani, founder of Marina Engineering Consultants, will share his success story.

The event will also feature SMEs clinic to offer their consultancy services to the SMEs.

Mashura

GEW Oman will also be organising a ‘Mashura’ event at the Riyada incubator, hosting Oman Global Logistics Group ‘ASYAD’ to talk about their experience and the opportunities available for the Omani entrepreneurs.

In line with the GEW Oman events, a workshop moderated by William Crew, CEO of Inspired Solutions, will be organised to highlight the sustainability of startups in Oman.

Startup Weekend

Finally, as part of GEW events, the National Business Centre (NBC) will be organizing Startup Weekend for the third consecutive year. The 54-hour event aims to bring together designers, developers, marketers, and startup enthusiasts to share ideas, form teams, and launch startups.

The top three most feasible and profitable ideas will get the opportunity to join NBC’s pre-incubation and incubation phases.

GEW Oman events are organised in cooperation with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) and supported by Khimji Ramdas Social Development Arm (Eshraqa), Oman LNG and Round Company. The events will be held under the slogan ‘Growth and Sustainability’.
