Livescore Addicts, as the name suggests, is a real-time soccer scores update application. The app covers more than 400 of the most popular leagues and cups around the world from 100 different countries, which includes some, but not all, Arab competitions. The idea is not unique in any way, but it is the abundance of features that makes this particular app the best one you can download.
With local and regional leagues kicking off across Europe and the rest of the world, we can’t stress enough how convenient Livescore Addicts is if you wanna keep track of all the latest scores. As far as sports applications go, this is the best real-time scores app we've seen. All major international tournaments are included, in addition to a considerable number of local leagues. These are Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Kuwait is the only country that features 2 cups in addition to the league: the Crown Prince Cup and the Federations Cup.
The list of features is quite impressive. You can manually set league or cup priority, which means you get your favorites fixtures to display in ascending order from favorite to least important on the results tab. You can nix competitions that you don’t want. What’s more, you can click the whistle shaped button at the top right corner and only display games in progress to lessen the clutter on a busy soccer day.
But the ingenius bit is the notifications. You can pick your favorite teams and set alarms for a handful of events. In addition to goals, you can set reminders of a game. It also gives you notifications of line ups as soon as they are made available by the coaches, of kick offs, of half time and full time results, red cards, and whenever video highlights become available. You can also set these notifications for particular games.
From the main tab you can view games that are happening on the day, swipe back to the day before and swipe forward for tomorrow. Swipe forward again and the app will show you the next games for your followed teams.
Clicking on a game shows you important match highlights in a timeline, as well as 4 more tabs. Highlights include goals, in addition to who assisted, substitutions, red and yellow cards awarded, attempts that hit the post, and injuries. In the same tab you get a handful of neat features as well: you can vote on the result of the game, view the results of previous meeting between the 2 teams in question, view their form over the last five games, and view their average age and heights.
The 4 other tabs are video higlights, taken usually from DailyMotion, starting line ups and substitutes available, match stats such as possession, shots on goal, corners, offsides, saves, etc, and the league table (for league games).
You can click on a player in the line up and get their biography and league states; you can share results through social media straight from the app; and the features go on and on...
There are really very few things that we can conceive off that aren't available in this app already. And to top it all off, it is free! If you're a footy fan, you can, and most definitely should download it. It is available for both Android devices and iPhones and iPads.
Bonus: The people behind the app have also released 'Player of the Match', exclusively for iPhones. In it you can rate players and highlight their strength while the game is in progress. The player that receives most votes by the community will be chosen as the player of the match and will be announced in Livescore Addicts.
