Blockchain is a technology that has been growing rapidly and has many applications. It is getting adopted by major international companies and governments. For that reason, ConsenSys is conducting their first 3-day blockchain training followed by a 2-day hackathon in Lebanon on the 17th of October, taking place at Beirut Digital District.

ConsenSys is a venture production studio building decentralized applications and various developer and end-user tools for blockchain ecosystems, primarily focused on Ethereum. They are a global formation of 1000+ technologists and entrepreneurs committed to building the infrastructure, applications, and practices that enable a decentralized world.

Participants will receive in-depth training on blockchain coding from international experts, get the chance to learn the basics of blockchain development, and network with experts to explore startup ideas and job opportunities. They will also learn how to build decentralized apps (dApp) with Ethereum smart contracts integrating them with web applications.

"Blockchain development is a skill in high demand globally and Lebanese developers and entrepreneurs have all it takes to be part and contribute to this new technology. It is the first time we organize this training in Lebanon and have significantly subsidized the prices with the help of international and local sponsors to bootstrap the Ethereum community in Lebanon." Said Marc Ziade, Business Operations & Strategy Director at ConsenSys.

Strategy& and Beirut Digital District have been brought on board as Platinum Sponsors. Middle East Venture Partners and Flat6Labs will be Silver Sponsors, Al Iktisad wal 3amal will be their media partner, along with ArabNet and TechFugees as community partners who are supporting this initiative with the aim to empower talent in Lebanon.

Registrations will remain open until the 30th of September. Students who have basic programming knowledge can enter the training program by filling out the survey which will determine their acceptance; whereas Lebanese programmers and professionals can directly sign up through Ihjoz.
