The MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab (MITEF Pan Arab), in partnership with Zain, Agility, and GCC Services, has announced the launch of one of its flagship competitions, Innovate for Refugees, designed to find and reward tech-driven cutting-edge solutions that address challenges faced by refugees.

The competition invites innovators, including refugees, from around the world to come up with tech-driven solutions that effectively tackle challenges faced by refugees and host communities.

Participants can apply online on the competition’s official website starting August 1 through November 2.

This year, the competition incorporates two tracks: the Ideas track and the Startups track. In addition to cash prizes, participating teams will benefit from top notch training sessions, networking opportunities, as well as regional and international exposure.

A panel of expert judges will assess the submissions of the applicants and evaluate their projects. 20 teams will then be selected and invited to attend the Award ceremony.

In the two last editions, MITEF Innovate for Refugees competitions managed to #CrackTheCrisis, supporting more than 40 innovation projects, and awarding 12 teams with innovative ideas to develop their projects that positively impact the lives of refugees.
