"Uber" the personal transportation service and app, has expanded to Beirut! They have been doing their business in the Middle East since September 2013, in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Doha. So Beirut is the 6th city they move to in the Middle East. This move follows Careem’s pilot launch in Beirut just last month, and while both services are still in the initial stages in Beirut, this means that the Lebanese people will now have 2 taxi services they can hire through mobile apps.
“We're pretty sure you've heard the popular saying of how, in Lebanon, you can ski in the morning and dip your feet in the sea in the afternoon. Well it's popular because it's absolutely true.“ This is what Uber declared in their blog post concerning the news, showing confidence in their speed of service.
Already two celebrities have used the service, one of whom is TV and radio host at MTV, as well as winner from “Dancing with the Stars” Season 2 Daniella Rahme (shown in the above picture). There’s also Pierre Rabbat, host and executive producer of Men El Ekhir.
