
Apple fans around the world must be a little heart broken to hear the news of Steve Jobs’ resignation.
In an unanticiapted move that ended 14 years of reign as chief executive officer at Apple, Steve Jobs submitted his resignation on Wednesday and recommended COO Tim Cook to replace him. In the letter Jobs also asked to remain chairman of the board and an Apple employee.

In his resignation letter, Mr. Jobs wrote:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. (Read the rest)
Although such move has long been forseen, analysts do not expect this to affect the awaited launch of the iPhone 5 and iPad 3.
Experts are saying that Cook’s biggest responsibility will to be proving that Apple can still succeed without the man who co-founded the company and later steered it away from bankruptcy back in 1997. It’s true that Jobs is still going to be around when Cook is responsible, but still, these are some pretty big shoes to fill.
