Arabnet organizes major annual conferences, publishes news and analysis of the digital sector on its online news portal and print magazine, and creates original research reports about the region’s digital industry.

This year Arabnet celebrates its 10-year anniversary – a decade since it began its journey setting the ground for digital business and entrepreneurship in the MENA region!

On this occasion, Arabnet Beirut 2019 will be bigger than ever, a celebration of innovation gathering 3000+ corporate executives, government leaders, and entrepreneurs under one roof. This buzzing event will bring together 250+ experts and speakers from around the globe, covering a range of topics: Launchpad for startups and investors, Ad/Edge for digital media and advertising, and Finverse for digital banking and fintech.

Arabnet Beirut will also continue to be the leading platform for budding talent to present their ideas, startups, hardware innovations and marketing talent through through Arabnet’s long-running competitions: Ideathon, Startup Battle, Innovation Avenue, and Creative Combat.

For the first time this year, the event will also feature a Startup Showcase, bringing together 100 startups from Lebanon and beyond to exhibit and connect with industry experts and more than 100 investors.

This year’s program is also decked out with satellite events, happenings, activations, and parties linking together friends, stakeholders, and the public to celebrate a decade of Arabnet events, and paving the way to more growth and innovation!

The Startup Battle competition aims to support early-stage startups from across the region and help them grow their businesses. Each selected entrepreneur is allowed 5 minutes on-stage to showcase their product and convince the audience and judges of its strong market potential, effective business model and socio-economic potential impact. Finalists and runners-up receive an exhibition space for the duration of the conference, where they can network with investors, developers, executives, and the media, and build the relationships they need to help them expand their business. Winners get to compete at the Startup Regional Championship and go global.

The TechFair is the accompanying exhibition to the Arabnet Beirut conference, featuring over 100 exhibitors from around the region and the world. Leading companies and promising startups showcase their best, as 3000 exclusive attendees mingle, connect and discover the latest trends, applications and technologies.
Access to the TechFair is open solely to Arabnet participants.

The Startup Championship is an Arabnet initiative that visits cities across the region to select the best of local startups to compete in the final apex Startup Championship (exact date TBC). Startups get the chance to meet with investors, supporters, and the media in their local communities during phase one, which is the Startup Battle competition, while finalists from each country get to present to world-class investors and international media at the final event. Championship winners receive a $20,000 cash prize, as well as acceleration opportunities in Silicon Valley and services from a wide range of providers.

The Ideathon competition aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at its earliest stage: turning bright ideas into functional products. It runs as a series of rapid back-to-back presentations, were selected entrepreneurs get 2 minutes in the spotlight to showcase their ideas. Winners receive $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000 respectively, as a seed grant to help them kick-start their business, while great ideas receive the attention of investors, incubators, and other developers interested in making the project into reality.

Arabnet Beirut is conducted entirely in English and Arabic.
