Samia Melhem is the Global Lead for the Digital Development community of practice at the World Bank Group. Her operational responsibilities include investment operations in digital platforms & services, digital skills, digital identification, digital economy - as well as thought leadership, research, knowledge convening on Digital Development.
She has led/contributed to transformational projects in many countries, leveraging disruptive technologies to improve delivery of public services, with private sector’s participation. Her projects in Rwanda, Egypt, Philippines, Burkina Faso and West Africa received innovation awards from the International community. She has formal education in Electrical Engineering (BS), Computer Sciences (MS) and Finance (MBA).
