Seedstars World is coming to Palestine for the 3rd time as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week Palestine 2018. With the support of the local host Growth Training & Development, Seedstars will be holding a dynamic pitch event on the 13th of November.

The companies selected to pitch at the Seedstars Ramallah event need to be less than 2 years old, have raised less than $500K in funding and built a minimum viable product, ideally with existing traction. The Seedstars team is searching for one additional criterion: the startup’s regional and global scalability.

After a careful screening, the Seedstars team will shortlist around 10 of the best seed-stage startups in Palestine to pitch on November 13th for the opportunity to compete at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland. Selected startups will give a 5-minute pitch in English, in front of a jury made up of local startup heavyweights, followed by another fine minute Q&A session.

“Since this will be our 3rd time organizing the event at Ramallah, the stakes are high and we are very excited. We’ve been in this ecosystem for more than 4 years now and know there are companies in Palestine developing high-quality products. We are looking for the best and will take it with us to Switzerland in 2019!” says Omar Barakat, Regional Associate for MENA at Seedstars.

“In order to provide local entrepreneurs with this opportunity and aiming to deliver the best possible event, Seedstars is closely working with Salah Amleh, who is representing the initiative throughout the year. Events, such as SeedStars, are our access to the world. Our work is focused on growing Startups and taking them globally. We hope to take the best Palestinian Startup to represent Palestine Globally and hopefully win” explains Salah Amleh, Director at Growth Training and Development.

Further support is provided by the main Sponsor ArabBank; Platinum sponsors, Palestine Investment Fund and Coca Cola; our Gold sponsors, Paltel and Careem; as well as media sponsors Raya FM & Al-Iqtisadi .

With a strong network of international partners, such as Merck, SPECo, Enel or Continental (amongst others), the competition organizers are looking for smart startups that tackle regional issues and develop profitable and sustainable products for the global market.
