Panel: Lebanese Diaspora; Bringing Technology Opportunities Back Home

While Lebanon’s population is only 6 million people, there are more than 12 million people of Lebanese descent around the world in the diaspora, according to the World Population Review.  This diaspora is one of Lebanon’s unique advantages and can help connect the local tech sector with the global market, providing access to cutting-edge developments in Silicon Valley as well as opportunities in emerging markets like Africa.  Diaspora can also directly engage with and support the local tech industry by bringing more back office jobs to Lebanon, helping secure outside funding for startups, and supporting Lebanese startups to expand regionally and globally.  This panel gathers some of the most inspirational Lebanese diaspora to discuss their journey abroad, highlight the opportunities that they see for investing in Lebanon, and explore how the diaspora could work more closely with the local ecosystem to build a thriving digital economy.
